Wireless Home Theater

Wireless home theater products are available through most audio/video retailers. These items have the advantage of not requiring speaker wire to be run across the floor or ceiling. However, it is important to remember that even wireless speakers will need to be plugged in for power.

Wireless home theater speakers are designed to pick up signals from the amplifier without the need of a direct connection. This is done through the use of a transmitter on the amplifier and a receiver that is built in to the speaker. But, as previously mentioned, since they have no direct connection to the amplifier, they must be plugged into a wall outlet in order to work.

While wireless home theater equipment has improved, most experts still recommend using directly connected speakers. Wireless speakers can cut out of the signal from the amplifier is blocked, creating a real annoyance when trying to watch a movie. With a hard-wired system, this problem can be eliminated.
